Research

We employ a number of spatial research / design research approaches to gather the data and glean insights to build the evidence-base. We ensure we are not only considering the academic research arena, but also employ an experiential approach to gather human experience and perception data through community engagement and participation. We are currently involved in a number of Urban Research projects around the broad topic of ‘Healthy Place Design’, working in partnership with several institutions. We are experienced in the following research methods:

  • Healthy place assessments through rapid urban appraisal, design research and spatial evidence gathering using different field survey techniques and desktop studies
  • Questionnaire design and community surveys
  • Ethnographic research and community interviews, go-along interviews
  • Study tours, focusing on sensory exploration of place
