Alternative Plan for Grove Park Youth Club Site

We designed and delivered a co-design workshop for the Grove Park Neighbourhood Forum who wanted to express their own regeneration vision for their neighbourhood that included reinstating facilities and opportunities for young people in the area. The participatory workshop facilitated a dialogue among the residents, helping them voice their aspirations for bringing the derelict youth club site back into use.

The workshop involved organising a site walk, ideation brainstorm and co-designing of the spaces in and around the derelict youth club site. All the community ideas, together with background research, were then compiled into a report forming their ‘Alternative Plan for the Grove Park Youth Club’. This report has since helped the community to lobby for a section 215 clean-up of the site, as well as several meetings with the council to work through the issues identified to ensure they get a fairer, higher quality and sustainable outcome for their own neighbourhood.
